Formerly a maintained campground, Cane Creek still has designated campsites with picnic tables along with remnants of trash cans that once were and a bathroom building that’s questionable for use. This place used to be managed by the Corp of Engineers (the army) but is evidently no longer on their radar. The bathroom building’s door and toilet seats have been left open so the stalls are filled with dried leaves (we visited in March) and are plastered in bug nests – digging a hole outside seemed like a much better option. That being said, it’s actually a pretty decent spot right along the Arkansas River. Only one other RV was staying the night but it seems to be a popular spot for locals to go fishing during the day. Fine for any size tent or RV.
