A large gravel pit on the side of the Trans Canada just before the causeway to Cape Breton. Nothing fancy but there’s a gas station and Tim’s within striking distance so it’s a good place to hunker down for the night before crossing the causeway in the morning. Not a glamourous spot by any means but can’t complain since it’s free. There is obvious road noise being so close to the highway but it was nothing that kept us from a good night’s sleep. Enough room for any size rig but finding a level spot for something big could be a challenge. Wouldn’t recommend for tenting. Also a word of advice, we fell for thinking that the gas station before the causeway would be cheaper before hitting Cape Breton Island but it was actually $0.03/L more expensive than gas on the lower part of the island. Cheers to saving money on gas! Being here also made me realize I’ve spelled the word causeway wrong my whole life.
