Even though this is technically a rest area, it’s not at all like your typical roadside snoozing spot. The main loop is a dirt road with an outhouse building and what seems to be a water pump (didn’t test it), but once you turn down one of the many grassy paths, there are hidden campsites throughout. Behind the trees and far from the highway are nice little spots that are more private than even most paid campgrounds. Some even have fire rings but they’re mostly just open clearings where you can hang out and relax for the night or even a couple days. Don’t let the “rest area” category throw you off, it’s a great spot!
