Soak in the stars at this Dark Sky Viewing Area, just 40 minutes outside of Kingston. It’s one of the only places in Southern Ontario that’s not obstructed and spoiled by light pollution. Unfortunately, we arrived at night on a horribly rainy and overcast day so the stars weren’t really out to play but other people’s photos from this spot look pretty amazing. There’s a large gravel parking lot area with a very clean portapotty and a concrete pad for telescopes. If you continue down the gravel road, there’s another pullout in the trees that makes a more private sleeping spot. There is some road noise but nothing major. Room for any size rig and isn’t intended for tents. I can imagine it can get decently busy on clear summer nights (potentially noisier) but we had the place to ourselves.
