Not far from Trois-Rivières is Pointe-Yamachiche, which is a nature reserve right on the St. Lawrence River. The parking area is a large gravel lot with trash cans, big enough for any size rig. Walk down the trail from the parking lot to the boardwalk which looks out over the river and surrounding wetlands. Prime birdwatching area is that’s your jive. Not sure on what the restrictions are on tenting, but it seemed better suited for vehicle camping. No other facilities but it’s not far off the highway if you need to jet into town. Being a conservation area, be sure to take care to pack it in, pack it out. Good place to stop if you’re going to check out Montréal and Québec City.
