A nice little campground close to the entrance of the Black Hills National Forest, about half an hour away from Devil’s Tower National Monument. We stayed here because we intended to do some dispersed camping within Black Hills but the road (208) was impassable as the elevation increased because it was covered in snow (early May). We have a National Parks Pass so it was only 5 bucks to camp for the night. There are 24 campsites with fire rings and picnic tables and several dumpsters and very clean outhouses scattered throughout. There were about 5 other campers there while we were there and it was super peaceful and quiet – possibly because it was pouring rain the whole time so everyone was inside. Anyway, a nice spot to stay after visiting Devil’s Tower (which you definitely should) with easy access back to the highway.
