In the small Manitoban town of Russell, there is a grassy city park with FREE electrical hookups!! Those are hard to come by, especially in Canada, so this place is definitely a hidden gem. Sites have 15A service and picnic tables, along with outhouses, trash bins and two covered picnic areas. It’s right on the shoulder of the town so it’s pretty quiet but is still conveniently close to a gas station, grocery store and a few fast food places. Apparently there is a swimming pool within walking distance too but we didn’t scope it out. The town of Russell graciously accepts donations to keep the park going and they’re definitely doing a great job at providing a lovely place to stay while travelling through Manitoba. There are also plenty of prairie dogs to welcome you in.
This park is only open seasonally (May-Sept). Max stay is 6 days.
